IIn 2019, the total number of seats available for B.Tech admissions in IITs, including the female supernumerary seats, was 13,853.

The IITs board plans to increase this to 17,385 seats, mainly because they're giving 10% reservation to EWS, which will boost the number of available seats by almost 25%.

According to the JoSAA 2023 seat information, there are 17,385 seats in IITs, 23,954 seats in NITs, and 7,746 seats in IIITs.
