The National Testing Agency (NTA) releases the CUET 2024 exam pattern along with an informationbrochure and notification. The CUET 2024 exams will be conducted from May 15, 2024 to May 31, 2024. CUET UG 2024 exam will be conducted in a hybrid format.
There will be three sections to CUET UG 2024, each containing multiple choice questions (MCQs) with an objective format. The CUET 2024 exam paperwill be in English with applicants selecting from a list of 12 regional languages. Every question will be worth five marks, and a score will be deducted for a wrong answer.
Candidates should be aware that the CUET UG will include subjects related to a particular domain, Section 1A, Section 1B, and a General Test. Candidates will be able to select their preferred language for Section 1A, which will be administered in 13 different languages. A maximum of six topics, consisting of two languages, three domain subjects, and a general test, may be taken by candidates.
A hybrid format will be used for the CUET UG 2024 exam. Questions will appear in the Multiple-choice questions (MCQs) format. The CUET 2024 exam pattern highlights are shown in the table below.

CUET Exam Pattern 2024 – Language Test Subjects: Tamil, Telugu, Assamese, Punjabi, English, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, Odiya, Bengali, Hindi and Urdu
CUET 2024 Exam Pattern – Optional Language Subjects: French, Spanish, German, Kashmiri, Konkani, Bodo, Dogri, Maithili, Nepali, Persian, Italian, Arabic, Sindhi, Manipuri, Santhali, Tibetan, Japanese, Russian, Chinese.
The CUET 2024 exam will be held in 3 slots on different days based on the subjects selected by the applicants.
A maximum of four tests may be taken by candidates during Slot 1, which is scheduled for the morning shift from 9 to 11 AM. These tests include 2 language from Section IA, maximum of 3 domain specific subjects from Section II and one General Test from Section III.
The afternoon session of the CUET 2024 examination for slot 2 is scheduled from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM. Applicants may take up to five exams in the following format.
Q1. What is the format of the CUET 2024 Exam?
The exam will be administered in a hybrid format (pen and paper mode in addition to computer-based test mode), per the latest announcement made by NTA.
Q2. What is the number of sections in the CUET (UG) exam?
Three sections make up CUET 2024: Languages, Domain-specific, and General Awareness. Section IA: Thirteen Languages and Section IB: Twenty Languages comprise the two subparts of the language section.
Q3. Is the CUET 2024 Exam subject to negative marking?
Yes, there will be a one-mark deduction in the CUET for every wrong answer. Negative marking does not apply to questions that are not attempted.
Q4. How many subjects may I select from Section II?
The domain-specific section is included in Section II. There are a total of 29 subjects in this segment, from which candidates may select no more than three or four.
Q5. How the questions will be asked in CUET 2024?
There will be multiple-choice questions on the CUET 2024 exam. A moderate difficulty level is anticipated for the CUET questions since the questions will be based on the syllabus for the 12th grade.
