    XAT 2023 Description

    XAT 2023 is the latest edition of the Xavier Aptitude Test. It is an entrance examination conducted by XLRI – Xavier School of Management for admission to its two-year full-time MBA/PGDM programmes. The exam tests a candidate's ability, decision making, quantitative and qualitative skills as well as their overall aptitude. It judge their logical and critical thinking ability, their knowledge of contemporary issues and general knowledge in multiple areas.

    XAT 2023 has a new accent that is more persuasive in nature. It focuses on the students’ ability to analyze situations and come up with solutions. Unlike other entrance exams, XAT 2023 does not just assess a student's knowledge. Also how well they can apply it to address problems in real-life scenarios. Candidates are evaluated through various parameters such as essay writing, data interpretation, problem-solving ability and communication skills. The exam will also test candidates on their understanding of current events related to business, politics, economics and international affairs.

    The focus is to assess the candidate's attitude and approach towards social issues in order to gauge their commitment towards social responsibility and ethical practices. To prepare for XAT 2023, candidates must have a strong hold on current affairs as well as hone their problem-solving skills. They should be able to interpret data efficiently and effectively come up with solutions for given problems. Candidates should also practice essay writing and prepare for the different sections of the exam including Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation (QA & DI) and Decision Making & Analytical Reasoning (DM & AR).     Exam Eligibility Criteria

    XAT 2023 Exam Eligibility Criteria

    The general eligibility criteria of XAT 2023 for all XAMI member colleges and other B-schools accepting XAT 2023 score is as mentioned below:

    1. Educational Qualifications

    • Applicants must be holding a three-year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline from a recognized university
    • Applicants in their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply for XAT 2023 provided they can furnish their bachelor's degree certificate and mark sheet by the end of the admission year.

    2. Age Limit

    There is no upper age limit for XAT 2023 and applicants can apply irrespective of their age.

    3. XAT Eligibility Criteria & XLRI Eligibility are the same

    • It must be noted that the XAT exam eligibility 2023 and the XLRI admission eligibility 2023 are the same. On the pattern of XAT eligibility criteria 2023, XLRI also does not impose minimum marks restrictions in applying for the PGDM course.
    • However, depending on the course pursued, the eligibility criteria for XLRI may vary but the basic eligibility criteria remain the same.

    4. XAT 2023 Exam Eligibility for NRIs

    • XAT eligibility criteria 2023 for domestic applicants require the applicants to appear in XAT 2023 for MBA/PGDM 2023-25 admissions
    • XAT exam eligibility criteria for NRI and foreign applicants is that they can apply through their valid GMAT scores.

    There is no reservation policy in XAT Eligibility Criteria 2023 for any category.
    Exam Registration

    XAT 2022 Exam Registration

    Candidates can fill XAT Application Form once released online. The last date for XAT Registration is the final week of November 2023.

    • XAT registration fee is INR 1800 for Indian nationals. It can be paid via RuPay, Visa, Master Card / Maestro, Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards, Mobile Wallets.
    • XAT registration fee for Indian Candidates applying via GMP through GMAT is INR 2500. NRI or Foreign Candidates applying for one or multiple programs via GMAT must pay  INR 5000.
    • Candidates can apply after XAT registration the last date by paying INR 2050.

    XAT 2023 Exam Application Fee

    As per the official website, the XAT application fee is Rs 2,000 which can be paid by using a credit or debit card/net banking. It should be noted that there is no reservation in the XAT form fee for the applicants belonging to the reserved category.

    Before filing the XAT 2023 registration form, applicants should check the XAT eligibility criteria. Those candidates who have completed their graduation in any discipline or are in the final year are eligible to apply for XAT 2023.

    Exam Admit Card

    XAT 2023

    XAT 2023 applicants must download the XAT 2023 Admit Card from the official site of XLRI. The XAT 2023 admit card will be available on the official site three weeks before the exam is to be held. If the applicants wish to download the XAT 2023 admit card, then they will have to log in with the password and view the XAT admit card to check the contents of the admit card. If there are no discrepancies found in the XAT 2023 admit card, then the candidates can download it.

    XAT admit card for 2023 will be available for download on the official website in the December 20, 2022. Generally, it is released at least 3-4 weeks before the Exam. The official website for XAT admits card download is xat online.

    XAT Admit Card will have details such as exam center, date, and timing of the exam, instructions for candidates, as well as the candidate’s registration details.

    Steps to Download XAT 2023 Admit Card:

    • Go to  the XAT 2023 official website - xatonline.in.
    • Then, find and click the tab “Login” at the top right corner of the XAT 2023 home page.
    • Now, enter the valid XAT login credentials i.e. registered email ID and password.
    • It will redirect you to the dashboard. From there, find and click the XAT admit card download link.
    • Then, the XAT 2023 admit card will automatically download in pdf format.
    • Take a printout of the XAT hall ticket for your future use.
    Exam Center

    XLRI will release the exam centre cities along with the official notification. In order to capacitate thousands of XAT aspirants, almost all major cities in India have at least a test centre.

    • In keeping with centres of the previous year, XAT 2023 is expected to be conducted in 72 cities across India.
    • While filling the XAT Application Form, candidates can select up to 2 test centres that are convenient to them.
    • The final allocated test centre will be mentioned on the Admit Card of the XAT Exam.
    • The test centre can be changed when the form correction portal is live.

    XAT Syllabus 2023: Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation (QA & DI)

    XAT Syllabus for Quant & DI is vast and covers almost all the topics of maths. Candidates need to give more attention and extra effort while preparing for this section. Topics covered are from that of the 10th standard syllabus.

    Quantitative Ability:

    XLRI has brought significant changes in this section. Numbers, Geometry, and Mensuration questions have become more prominent and around 50% of the Quant questions are based on these areas. Arithmetic, Venn diagrams, functions are other favorite topics on which questions are formed in XAT.

    Data Interpretation:

    Data tables, graphs, charts, bar diagrams, data analysis & comparison are the major topics for DI, and the questions are majorly asked in sets.

    Note:

    There is no percentage defined between the numbers of questions asked in the QA & DI section.

    Verbal & Logical Ability Syllabus for XAT 2023 has been divided into 3 parts viz. Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension, and Logical Reasoning.

    Verbal Ability:

    The syllabus you need to cover in this part is questions based on English vocabulary like fill in the blanks, synonyms, antonyms, correction of sentences, use of right words, etc.

    Reading Comprehension:

     This part will take more time because you have to read the whole paragraph to mark the correct answers and also the share of questions from this part is high in VALR. The topics for RC could be politics, economics, or abstract.

    Logical Reasoning:

    The syllabus for this part is analogy, clocks, inference & judgments, blood relations, seating arrangements, etc. The questions from this part are mostly asked in sets so if you are able to crack one LR question then it means you can answer at least 2-3 questions.     • 26 questions of the objective type are expected to come from this section.
    • Approximately 56 minutes are required to complete this section.

    XAT Syllabus 2022: Decision Making (DM)

    XAT Decision Making section is unique to the XAT exam because this section is not included in most of the MBA entrance exams. But there is no need to worry as this section is not going to be very difficult.

    Salient features of the XAT 2022 Syllabus for Decision Making are mentioned below:

    • The syllabus for this section is decision making in a situation, data arrangement tests, etc.
    • There are 21 questions expected from this section.
    • Set-based questions are asked. The difficulty level of the DM section is moderate to tough.
    • XAT Decision-making section has negative marking. Answering 16 – 17 questions is usually a good attempt.

    To score in this section, a candidate needs to remain in constant touch with GK on a daily basis. Important features of General Knowledge XAT Syllabus 2022 are mentioned below:

    • Topics to be covered in this section are history, politics, author names, business, economy, current affairs (national and international), etc.
    • 25 questions will be asked in total. You will be given 15 minutes to complete this section.
    • The difficulty level is moderate. Most questions are on current affairs and some on GK.
    • 60:40 breakup is defined for GK and Current Affairs.
    • Candidates can go for guesswork as negative marking is not applicable.

    XAT 2023 Cut Off will be announced by Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) Jamshedpur after the declaration of XAT 2023 Results. It is expected to be announced in February 2023 and the admission process based on XAT 2023 will begin soon after. Last year's XAT 2022 Cut Off is already available on this page. Candidates can check the minimum XAT score required for admission to the 2022 batch of MBA admissions at XLRI given here for their reference. The XLRI 2022 Cut Off for Male candidates for the Business Management course was 94 percentile. For female candidates, the cut-off was 92 percentile. For the Human Resourcement Management course, the cut-off was 93 percentile for candidates from the Male engineering category while for Female engineering candidates, it was 90 percentile.     XAT Decision Making section is unique to the XAT exam because this section is not included in most of the MBA entrance exams. But there is no need to worry as this section is not going to be very difficult.

    • There are 21 questions expected from this section.

    • Topics to be covered in this section are history, politics, author names, business, economy, current affairs (national and international), etc.
    • 25 questions will be asked in total. You will be given 15 minutes to complete this section.
    • The difficulty level is moderate. Most questions are on current affairs and some on GK.

    XAT 2023

    XAT 2023 applicants must download the XAT 2023 Admit Card from the official site of XLRI. The XAT 2023 admit card will be available on the official site three weeks before the exam is to be held. If the applicants wish to download the XAT 2023 admit card, then they will have to log in with the password and view the XAT admit card to check the contents of the admit card. If there are no discrepancies found in the XAT 2023 admit card, then the candidates can download it.

    XAT admit card for 2023 will be available for download on the official website in the December 20, 2022. Generally, it is released at least 3-4 weeks before the Exam. The official website for XAT admits card download is xat online.

    XAT Admit Card will have details such as exam center, date, and timing of the exam, instructions for candidates, as well as the candidate’s registration details.

    Steps to Download XAT 2023 Admit Card:

    • Go to  the XAT 2023 official website - xatonline.in.
    • Then, find and click the tab “Login” at the top right corner of the XAT 2023 home page.
    • Now, enter the valid XAT login credentials i.e. registered email ID and password.
    • It will redirect you to the dashboard. From there, find and click the XAT admit card download link.
    • Then, the XAT 2023 admit card will automatically download in pdf format.
    • Take a printout of the XAT hall ticket for your future use.

    XAT 2023 Exam Center

    XLRI will release the exam centre cities along with the official notification. In order to capacitate thousands of XAT aspirants, almost all major cities in India have at least a test centre.

    • In keeping with centres of the previous year, XAT 2023 is expected to be conducted in 72 cities across India.
    • While filling the XAT Application Form, candidates can select up to 2 test centres that are convenient to them.
    • The final allocated test centre will be mentioned on the Admit Card of the XAT Exam.
    • The test centre can be changed when the form correction portal is live.

    XAT 2023 Exam Cut Off

    XAT 2023 Cut Off will be announced by Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) Jamshedpur after the declaration of XAT 2023 Results. It is expected to be announced in February 2023 and the admission process based on XAT 2023 will begin soon after. Last year's XAT 2022 Cut Off is already available on this page. Candidates can check the minimum XAT score required for admission to the 2022 batch of MBA admissions at XLRI given here for their reference. The XLRI 2022 Cut Off for Male candidates for the Business Management course was 94 percentile. For female candidates, the cut-off was 92 percentile. For the Human Resourcement Management course, the cut-off was 93 percentile for candidates from the Male engineering category while for Female engineering candidates, it was 90 percentile.     XAT 2023 Mock Test

    XLRI will release the mock test of XAT 2023 on its official website a few days before the exam is scheduled to be conducted. The Mock Test will most likely be released in December 2021. Candidates appearing for the XAT 2022 must always go through the Mock Test to test their preparation and practice on the interface as they will find it in the exam. The XAT 2023 Mock Test was released by XLRI and the direct link of the same has been shared below. Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is a national-level examination conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur.
