With a vision to inspire young minds and professionals, BIT Lalpur Campus Ranchi, was started initially with part-time courses in 1998. Currently, Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Computer Application (MCA), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) programs, and Ph.D. are being offered by the institute.
Full-time/ Part-time Ph.D. programs are being offered in the disciplines of Management and Computer Science.
Two years duration full-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) and two years full-time Master of Computer Application (MCA) courses are offered.
Three years duration Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) Courses are offered.
The main building accommodates lecture halls, research and training laboratories, library, administrative offices etc. covering an area of 30,000 sq. mtrs while the workshop annexure has a covered area of 4,000 sq. mtrs. The laboratories and offices of the Department of Space Engineering & Rocketry comprise a sub-campus that is some distance away from the main building for reasons of security.
There are lots of facilities like Classrooms, libraries, auditoriums, a sports facility, transportation, conference rooms, and a gender-segregated hostel are all air-conditioned. ATMs, medical and hospital services, security guards, 24-hour video surveillance, and personalized campuses and gyms are all available.

Applications are to be filled and submitted online in addition to the printed copy has to be submitted to the college office.
Candidates applying for BBA and BCA should have passed 10+2 examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board are considered eligible for admission.
Admission to BBA and BCA is done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination.
Candidates applying for MBA should have passed 10+2+3 with a minimum of 50% aggregate in any relevant stream from a recognized university are considered eligible for admission.
Admission to MBA is done on the basis of valid score in CMAT/ CAT/ XAT/ MAT.
For MCA, candidates should have passed BBA program with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks from a recognized university listed under UGC/AIU.
