Admission at SITE for B.tech students took place through the JEE (joint entrance exam ) which is conducted every year in May/June by the gov of Orissa. the minimum qualification for attempting this exam is +2 science pass. if someone is from SC / ST, handicapped, women, military, green card holders, and outside the state so for them quota is available. the admission strictly depends on AIEEE /OJEE rankings.
The fees are prescribed by gov of Orissa and the entire fees are payable at the beginning of the year.

70% of seats are filled by Orissa JEE of which 1/3 of seats are reserved for state candidates.
15% of seats are filled by AIEEE counseling centrally
5% seats are open for NRI candidates which are filled by the institute
20% seats of the entire intake are allowed for lateral entry during 3 semester
