The first shift of the JEE Main 2024 exam for April 9th is over, and initial reports suggest a balanced paper with a moderate difficulty level. Experts are still gathering information, but overall feedback indicates the questions adhered closely to the prescribed syllabus.
Mathematics seems to have dominated this shift's paper, with a significant focus on calculus concepts like differentiation and integration. Time management also appears to have been crucial, as some students found the paper lengthy. A more detailed analysis, including subject-wise difficulty and key topics tested, will be available soon.
The first shift of JEE Main 2024 seems to have presented a challenge for students, particularly in Mathematics. Experts report the Math section as moderate to difficult, with a focus on Calculus, Vectors, 3D geometry, and Conic sections. While most topics were covered, the questions themselves were described as lengthy and requiring careful manipulation. This suggests that strong problem-solving skills and time management were crucial for success.
Physics, on the other hand, offered some relief. The paper leaned towards the easier side, with questions spread across various chapters from both Class 11 and 12. Mechanics, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, and Modern Physics all featured, with a focus on concepts learned in Class 12. Overall, this section appeared to be more balanced in terms of difficulty and topic distribution.
Students appearing for the JEE Main 2024 exam are keen to understand the difficulty level of the papers. Here's a quick analysis of the April 6th, Shift 1 question paper:
Physics leaned towards the easier side, with a good chunk of questions coming from current electricity and NCERT textbooks. However, some students reported encountering 4-5 confusing questions. Mathematics presented a moderate to challenging hurdle. While most topics were covered, questions from calculus and 3D geometry required careful handling due to their length and complexity.
The first shift of the JEE Main 2024 exam for April 5th has concluded. With students stepping out of the exam halls, initial analyses suggest a moderate paper overall. While some initial reports mention a heavy weightage on Chemistry, a clearer picture will emerge once a more comprehensive analysis is available. Stay tuned for further updates as we gather more information and expert opinions.
The first shift of the JEE Main 2024 exam for April 4th is over, and initial reports suggest a moderate difficulty level paper. Overall, the questions adhered closely to the prescribed syllabus, with a healthy mix of concepts from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics being tested.
Students seem to report that Physics and Chemistry sections were slightly easier to tackle, while Mathematics included a few more challenging problems. However, careful reading and a focus on fundamentals seem to be the key to success across all three sections. Keep an eye out for further analysis as more information becomes available.
The JEE exam is right around the corner, and you might be feeling the heat. But don't panic! The next 48 hours are crucial for solidifying your knowledge and exam strategy. Here are some effective tips to maximize your score in this short window:
Focus on Revision, Not New Concepts: Resist the urge to learn entirely new concepts at this point. Instead, prioritize revising familiar topics from your study materials. Pay close attention to areas you found challenging during practice tests. Sharpen your problem-solving skills by revisiting important formulas and theorems.
Attention JEE Main Session 2 test takers! The wait is over. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the admit cards for the upcoming session. This means you can now download your hall ticket and check your exam center details. Remember, the exams are scheduled from April 4th to 15th, 2024 across two shifts daily. Remember to print a copy and bring it to the exam room, along with a legitimate form of identification. Recall that downloading the admit card is essential if you want to show up for the exam!
Plan and Focus: Craft a study plan that splits time evenly between Physics, Chemistry, and Math. Prioritize understanding core concepts over rote memorization. Tackle challenging areas early and clear doubts regularly. Don't neglect high-scoring subjects like Chemistry. Practice numerical problems in Physics and master formulas and techniques in Math for speed and accuracy.
Practice Makes Perfect: Regularly solve previous years' JEE Mains papers and mock tests to get comfortable with the exam format and time constraints. Analyze your mistakes after each test to identify weaknesses and areas needing improvement. Work on time management skills to ensure you attempt all sections effectively within the exam duration.

According to some students, the JEE Main 2024 exam followed the expected pattern with no surprises, but had a moderate level of difficulty with a few tricky questions. Yogesh from Pune found the paper a bit lengthy compared to previous years and sample papers, while another candidate, Vijay, found the paper easy with direct questions.
Ajay Sharma, the National Academic Director of Engineering at Aakash BYJU’S, analyzed the Phase 2 JEE Main Exam and stated that the difficulty level was easy to moderate, following the same trend as previous years. Physics was considered the easiest section, while Mathematics was rated moderate due to lengthy calculations.
Regarding the individual sections, Chemistry was mainly based on NCERT books, and many questions were theoretical in nature. Physical Chemistry had a lower number of numerical questions. Questions from all three branches, Physical, Organic, and Inorganic, were distributed evenly, and questions were asked from prominent chapters like -block, Coordination, Biomolecules, Alcohol, Phenol and Ether, Chemical bonding and Aldehyde, Ketone, and Carboxylic Acids.
Physics included questions from Mechanics, Current electricity, Semiconductors, and Modern Physics, with two questions from Modern Physics and two from current electricity. Other chapters were included in due proportions, and XI and XII Physics had almost equal weightage in the paper.
Mathematics had a moderate level of difficulty, but some questions required lengthy calculations, with questions from Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, Probability, Vectors & 3D, and Algebra. Almost all topics were covered, with Vector and 3D being dominant.
Candidates are allowed to bring only their admit card, self-declaration form, valid ID proof, transparent ballpoint pen, and hand sanitizer to the exam hall. The second shift will commence at 3 pm and end at 6 pm. For more information, please visit the official website.
