Previous year, a total of 26,687 candidates applied for admission to SoSEs, of whom 2,794 applicants across STEM, Humanities and High-end 21st Century Skills schools were short-listed. Close to two-thirds of the short-listed students were from government schools or government-aided institutes and the rest were from private schools recognized by government.
