Exam Pattern 2023:
Students who will be emerging in the ICSE Class 10 Exam 2023 are needed to select a minimum of six subjects. They will be needed to select a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3 subjects from their specific group. Students can see the detailed subject list on cisce.org.
- Group 1 (compulsory) – The internal examinations percentage will carry 80 marks while the internal assessment will be for 20 marks.
- Group 2- Students will be required to select minimum 2 and maximum 3 subjects from this group. Similar to group 1, there are 80 marks for written paper and 20 marks for internal assessment.
- Group 3 – Students will be required to opt for 1 subject out of the available options. The written exam will carry a weightage of 50 marks, while the internal assessment will carry 50 marks allotment.
This year, the board has also revised the ICSE syllabus 2022-23 for select subjects. Students are guided to see the amend ICSE Class 10 syllabus 2023 accessible on the CISCE website for good preparation. CISCE issued specimen papers for both the ICSE Class 10 and ISC Class 12 exams late October. These sample-papers range from 2017-2022.
Class 10 students will be able to practice the 80-mark mock question papers along with Hindi, geography, mathematics among others while Class 12 sample question papers are accessible for English, history and psychology, chemistry, fashion design and computer science question papers.
