UGC NET Phase-I City Intimation Link Released

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has recently released the city intimation link for the upcoming University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) Phase-I. The UGC NET is conducted twice a year for determining the eligibility of candidates for the position of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges. The Phase-I of the UGC NET will be held from May 2nd to 20th, 2023.

The city intimation link is an important document for candidates appearing for the UGC NET as it contains the details of the examination center and the date of the examination. Candidates are required to download the city intimation link from the official website of the NTA and check the details of their examination center. It is important to note that the city intimation link is provisional and the final examination center will be allocated by the NTA based on the preference of the candidate and availability of seats.

The UGC NET Phase-I will consist of two papers, Paper-I and Paper-II. Paper-I will be a general aptitude test and will consist of questions from reasoning ability, comprehension, general awareness, and numerical ability. Paper-II will be subject-specific and will consist of questions from the candidate’s chosen subject. The duration of both papers will be 3 hours each.

The UGC NET Phase-I is a computer-based test and will be held at various examination centers across the country. The examination centers have been selected by the NTA to provide a fair and secure environment for the examination. The NTA has also put in place several measures to ensure the safety of the candidates during the examination.

To apply for the UGC NET Phase-I, candidates must have a Master’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university. They must also meet the minimum age criteria for the position of Assistant Professor and JRF. The age limit for the Assistant Professor is no more than 35 years, while the age limit for the JRF is 28 years.

The UGC NET Phase-I will be conducted in two shifts, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Candidates will be allotted their examination centers based on their preference and availability of seats. The NTA has advised candidates to reach the examination center well in advance to avoid any last-minute inconvenience.
